Food Fight

What happens when you combine the high-stakes energy of a culinary competition with a powerful mission to end hunger? You get Food Fight. With the enthusiastic commitment of celebrated Chef Stephen Coe, Food Fight is our flagship fundraiser and a one-of-a-kind community event. It’s a high-energy culinary throwdown where professional chefs, food truck chefs, and talented amateur chefs go head-to-head for a great cause.

This event is about more than just great food. It’s an innovative way to raise awareness about food insecurity and food rescue. Competitors are challenged to create award-winning dishes using rescued food that might have otherwise gone to waste, showcasing immense creativity and resourcefulness. By bringing together chefs and attendees from across the South Shore and beyond, we break down silos, create new connections, and rally the community in the fight to feed our neighbors.

HOW IT WORKS

Food Fight is an interactive and delicious experience for everyone who attends. Here’s what you can expect:

The Competition

Watch the drama unfold as competitors shop Feed The Wey, a food pantry bus stocked with rescued food and pantry staples, then race the clock to create a unique, delicious dish. We have multiple brackets, from professional chefs to amateur home cooks and even student teams.

You’re the Judge

As an attendee, you get to sample the creations from the competitors and cast your vote for the coveted "People's Choice" award.

A Community
Celebration

Beyond the competition, the event is a true celebration of the diverse food culture of the South Shore and featuring some of the region's best food trucks and chefs. It’s also a chance to see the innovative work of the South Shore Food Bank up close.
